Internet Business for Beginners

So you want to start your own internet business but have no idea where to begin. First let me say that you will be joining hundreds of thousands of people all over the world who are freeing themselves from the tethers of working for others. Home based opportunities are now all over the internet and with the super information highway it is now easier then ever to order anything with the click of a button so why not get in on it.

You don't necessarily have to know a lot about affiliate marketing or online advertising to get started on an internet business. Some of the things you do need to know however are, will you have time to devote to the business, what type of business are you passionate about beginning and are you willing to learn about how to conduct an internet business as you go. The internet is changing every day so keeping up on the new changes is key to a successful internet based business.

One thing a newbie needs to understand from the beginning is how the internet works. A trusted internet website that explains home based internet businesses is a good place to begin. You need someone who will give it to you straight and tell you exactly what you are facing when you begin this adventure. There is nothing worse than getting involved in something that you do not truly understand only to fail later because of something simple that could have been avoided if you had only had the right instruction.

Internet businesses have their base in internet websites so you must also understand how websites are effective and how they are instrumental in your home based internet business. Today's internet with the introduction of web based programs like MySpace and MSNSpace are offering more and more people the opportunity to build and maintain their own website but the truth be told this is only playing on the fringes of what a true website can do for your business. With low cost programs and ready made website templates you can be up and running in no time but none of that will do you any good if you do not have a proper understanding of what an internet business is and how it works, again you will need a guide.

Days not so long ago businesses trusted word of mouth and local advertising to get the word out on their business and even the most successful business reached only in a small radius around his storefront. Those days are over and now the small business owner in Turlock California can be seen and heard in every country in the world. There are guys in California who sell almonds to guys in Turkey and never even leave their offices. The internet based business has opened up the entire plant and now you too can walk through that door as never before. Just be sure to do extensive research looking for the best fit for you.

So where do you begin? Once again we stress that it is important to find the right guide. You need a company or individual who knows the ins and outs and isn't afraid to show you. Some internet business set up companies are only interested in furthering themselves, that isn't the story here. We want to see you become successful so that you too can throw your hat into the ring and make the internet business world that much more of a handy place to shop. We know what this step will mean for you as a business owner and the really exciting thing is that you don't have to be an expert, you can learn as you go.

Setting up your own internet business is a great project for retirees, couples and even families. You can be your own boss, get those you love involved and never leave the house all the while making money at what you have a passion for doing. Think of it, you can take control of one part of the internet business while your wife takes care of another and then the two of you can still take the time you want for other things. You control the business, you control the product and you control the money flow. Your world and your destiny is now in your hands.

So step off today and decide what your passion is and go for it. Internet based businesses are the wave of the future. Make your services or product available at the click of a button. Think of the thrill you will get if that guy in Turkey who bought the almonds from the guy in Turlock also wants to purchase something from you, while you sit in your own home, at your own computer doing business through your own portal to the world.
Be careful and go for it.............................Ricky

Baby Boomers- Your Website Design ?

If you haven't thought of Baby Boomers in regard to website design, you're not on top of things.

The first of the Baby Boomer group are turning 60 and they are retiring. Why should you care? For starters, Baby Boomers are the largest segment of our population. That would be a lot of people to ignore. And their needs and desires are going to differ from those of the, up to now, very young computer users.

The first of the Baby Boomer group came to computers late. Although they might not have warmed to the idea of a computer driven world if left alone, a huge segment of this population has been forced into the computer world by their employers. Having gained some comfort with computers in the workplace, Baby Boomers have become much more likely to make computers a staple item in their homes.

Although I am aware of the dry statistics about Baby Boomers, much of what I am saying about Baby Boomers is from first hand observation.

I live near Palm Springs. The population in this area on a year round basis is an older population than that of most locals across the country. Many retirees have made this their full time home because of the climate. And, every fall and winter our population balloons when many retirees flow to our community in RV's for the season. Plus another large group who maintain winter homes here.

Why am I telling you all of this? Because maybe I know some things you may not have thought about. You see, I know, from first hand observation that these retirees, many of them Baby Boomers, bring lap top computers in those RV's. And many who have Winter homes here, have them equipped with desktop computers. I also know, that these Baby Boomers are not just sending email and jokes. They are surfing!

Baby Boomers are not sitting by the window watching the neighbors go by. These people are busy. They love to shop, they love to travel, they have money. Baby Boomers are going to spend some of their time online shopping and if you want your share of that market, you'd better be ready to meet their wants and needs in planning your website design.

That brings us to what this all has to do with website design. Bifocals! Reading glasses! Many people at or soon after 40 find that reading is not as easy as it used to be. Even many who have always had good vision and never before needed glasses find that reading can be difficult. Anyone designing a website should know that reading online is harder than just reading a book. Whether you do your own website design, or have a professional design your website, keep this in mind. Making your website an easy read is important for all your visitors. It is especially important as Baby Boomers become such a large part of your potential market.

The Baby Boomer phenomenon is just at it's beginning. The Baby Boomer segment of the population will span most of the next twenty years. The last of the Baby Boomer group will be 42 this year.

Consider the size of your fonts when designing your websites. Contrast is another important factor. I see many websites that not only have tiny fonts, but they are often in muted shades even a twenty year old would find a challenge.

Many elements of website design are important, when you consider the needs and the tastes of the group you are marketing to. Audio with no surfer control, flash, colors that are hard on the eyes, small fonts, lack of contrast between font color and background could all be a turn off.

Considering the following five factors could be important to the degree of success you have in your online business over the next few years.

1. Baby Boomers are surfing.

2. Baby Boomers like to spend money.

3. Baby Boomers have money.

4. Baby Boomers will have time in the coming years to surf and shop.

5. Baby Boomers as the years go by will be from the younger segment of this population and will have had more time and experience using computers and the internet.

Will Baby Boomers shop with you? Or, will they find another website that has implemented into their website design what these folks are looking for, and are comfortable with? Baby Boomers will be the largest segment of our population for most of the next twenty years. Make this a consideration when you plan your website design.

Key Words and SEO

SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is something that webmasters try to implement on their websites, particularly if it's an online business or if they want a lot of traffic to their sites. Basically, SEO is developing your website in such a way that the search engines will display your site whenever someone does an internet search for specific keywords that you have craftily sprinkled throughout your pages. With the millions of websites out there, it can be very difficult keeping up with the competition so that your site is displayed in the top few search results, or even the first two pages of search results. This article will describe a few things you can do when optimizing your site for the search engines.

Firstly, there are different search engines that people use to find information on the net. The top three that you should be trying to optimize your site for are MSN, Yahoo, and Google. We all want to be at the top of the Google search listings, but it's a good idea to start with MSN and Yahoo, simply because it's usually quicker to get indexed and you still get a significant amount of your website traffic from these search engines. You will get more traffic from Google, but it's a little trickier and probably more competition there.

The next thing you want to do is come up with keywords for your website that you think a lot of people will do internet searches for. This is harder than it sounds and you have to be really careful to choose the right keywords and keyword phrases so that you can beat out the competition. The way to find the best keywords to use on your site is to use a keyword research tool that displays the number of times per month your chosen keyword is searched in the three major search engines. You may initially think that the more a term is searched, the more traffic you will get, but think again! The more a term is searched, the harder it will be to get your site ranked in the top few search results, or the first few pages of search results. You want to choose terms that are less popular, but still have a significant number of searches. A good number to aim for is any term that is searched about 5000-10000 times per month. It's pretty difficult to do this without using a keyword research tool, such as Good Keywords.

Once you've found some good keywords, you want to go into the source code for your site and add those keywords to your HTML code in the right places. The best places to put your keywords are in the title tag, H1 and H2 header tags, the description tag, and then sprinkled throughout the text on your pages. Keyword density is an important factor that the search engines take into consideration when listing pages in the search results. While you want to repeat your keywords throughout your text, you also want to be careful not to overload your pages with the same keywords to make it obvious that you're just trying to get ahead in the search engine listings. If you try this, you risk getting your site banned, so try to maintain a relatively high keyword density, but not too high.

Now that you have your site sprinkled with enough good keywords, it's time to write articles on topics related to your keywords. Use those keywords in the article title, the first paragraph, within the body of the text, and in the conclusion, again without overloading the text with your keywords. There is no better way to get traffic to your site, links pointing back to your site, and the search engines to visit your site than by writing a good quality, original article with your search terms embedded throughout. These are the basics of keywords and SEO!

Internet Marketing- A Strategic View !

Internet marketing is a giant marketplace. There are many ways to earn profits, many things to sell, and many individuals to deal with. If you do not have a definite marketing plan, you will be lost in its depths, and probably, will not find your way back on the track, resulting to the capsizing of your business.

Even formulating a definite Internet marketing plan is also as huge as the marketplace itself. There are plenty of things to consider creating a website, how to develop your website, how to market your website, and so on. Furthermore, it is on the website aspect alone. It does not include market movements, relationship with your clients, potential clients, and site visitors, and others. With so many considerations, what will you think of first and foremost?

This is where strategic Internet marketing takes the action. It is used to define your potential market. Before you even plan to create a website and start your Internet marketing business, you need to study your potential clientele, evaluate the competition when you decide to cater to a particular market, and explore every existing opportunity for the success of your online business. When you start without thinking a strategic Internet marketing first, expect that you are on the track towards failure.

What is the concept that surrounds strategic Internet marketing? It helps you define your business goals clearly and lets you set your objectives. With a concrete yet flexible plan to consider along your Internet marketing business, you will be able to gear up a good start on your Internet marketing career and proceed to success.

How will you start in your strategic Internet marketing? There are 6 points that you need to ponder. This will help you define your plan and what you must do to keep your online business afloat along the course of your online career.

1. You start by defining your target market. There are certain questions that you need to answer to clearly define your target market. What type of individuals will be your most valuable clients? What class of society they will come from? What age group they belong to? What are their discretionary incomes? The answers that you will get out of these questions will help you define who you will cater to when you start your online business.

2. Strategic Internet marketing is not just defining who your customers are. You also need to figure out who your potential competitors are and their strengths and weaknesses in the market. From this, you will know how you will serve your potential market in way different from your competitors. Give your potential clients a choice between you and your competitors.

3. Your online business is useless if your target market is not shopping on the Internet. It is understood, since there are individuals who are wary in making purchases over the web. Formulate payment alternatives and assure your potential clients that the transaction will flow smoothly and with utmost security.

4. Do you have a searchable product? Are the products considered to be a major click to your clients? Although you will determine the marketability of your product when you already started your business, you can still determine its marketability based on other marketers offering similar product.

5. Do you have the ability of creating "a community of raving fans"? Your online business must turn your clients into repeat buyers, which will provide you a continuous stream of income over the years. What are the possible ways of turning your clients into long-term product evangelizers?

6. Are you ready to take the criticisms that you may receive from your unsatisfied clients? It is true that you cannot please everybody, thus you need to have a plan to compensate your unsatisfied clients. Are you willing to give out a "money-back-guarantee" feature?

Getting your potential market through strategic Internet marketing is just like joining an expedition of fish observers to track a particular fish specie. If you know how to look for them and where to look for them, you will find them easily. Moreover, there are also Internet buyers who are just waiting to be discovered by the right Internet marketers.

Google Ad Words

The object to successful advertising is to find a method of conveying your information to as many people as possible, while keeping the cost on the advertising low to begin with. This is the easiest way to generate traffic, and retain your profits. Google Adwords is a great method of getting both of these objectives done and making your site successful. It is very important to try and maintain a low click through cost when trying to target the appropriate customers.

It is no secret that pay per click can really make you business swell with traffic and customers by placing the highest bid on a keyword, or keywords you can get great page ranking when someone types your keyword into their browser for a search. If you have heard of Google Adwords you will know that it is not really a pay per click search engine, but a very powerful Google tool that can be used as an advertising template. It is said that the largest Internet based network for marketing is indeed Google. It is a global industry and is a very good way to get exposure on the Internet. If you are ever interested in the Google Adwords you can find it on just about every page that Google showcases, their ad can be found in a little rectangle by the organic search results that are free.

The basis premise of the Google Adwords realm is quite simple, the member makes their own advertisement, and then has to bid on a keyword. This keyword will then trigger the next step of the process. The next step is where the appearance of the ad can be showcased, to the viewers online. A members site consists of approximately 25 words or characters, this will include spaces so be mindful, it will also allow for a description segment of up to 70 words or characters, again spaces included in the total so you must watch what you are using as description. The great thing about this feature is your site will be posted within just a few minutes of you submitting it to Google. It could even become one of the sites that are sponsored, where they will sit on the right hand column of the search engine pages.

Google Adwords runs a little differently than the standard pay per click programs, as it is not entirely based on the bid you place on the keyword. It has other factors penciled into the equation, such as the click through rate x the cost per click. This in turn dictates what your page ranking will be in the end of the ratio. You will need a steady flow of traffic to your site prior to this method to be effective, so it is best to get a good game plan in motion.

There are many books that teach how to use the Adwords effectively, and as a matter of fact, you can find these books doing a Google search. It is very likely that you will find advertisers that utilized Google Adwords.

As far as free promotion is concerned, one of the best things that you can do is join in on the discussions that are taking place at some of the online forums. When talking with others you can run ideas past them and also market your new web site to them. Make sure that you add your link to your forum signature. This way, every time you make a post anybody that reads it will be able to click on your link. Believe it or not this will drive plenty of traffic to your site.

PLR - How To Make Money

If you need both efficiency and effectiveness when searching for content to make your website more attractive to the end user, private labels articles is one of the best choices available today. Various article providers offer prewritten articles on a wide variety of subjects that you can use for your website.

The best part is, all of these providers hold no claim on the rights of these articles, so you can put your name on them as if you had written them yourself. Let's face it, this is a much better way to fill your website with useful content instead of having to tediously write each and every article yourself, particularly if you have no talent for writing or just plain hate to write.

It's sad but true that you must be knowledgeable on your chosen topic and have a bit of computer savvy for maintaining a top-quality website, on the other hand, writing articles is NOT a prerequisite. Private label articles are the best way to fill this void.

Here are some ways that you can profit with private label articles:

1. Increase Your Web Site Traffic.

The truth is, the more interesting and captivating the articles are on a website, the more traffic you'll recieve. The more people that visit your website reguraly, the more money you will make. Article providers usually give their members a huge selection of articles to pick and choose from, so much so, that you'll never run out articles to put on your site.

As long as the articles you choose as your content are wisely selected, you can keep your site read-worthy, making sure that the people who do visit your site keep coming back for more again and again. This will also give you higher rankings on the search engines, thus increasing your chances even more so that you can expand your client base.

2. Promotional Giveaways.

People love free stuff, especially when it's quality material. Private label articles can be used to give away information to people who regularly subscribe to your website. Releasing something like a monthly E-Magazine for your site, which is actually composed of various articles that you put together, is an excellent way to keep your subscribers active and interested. The best thing about the free E-magazine idea is, besides being relatively easy to do, it also gives your clients the impression that you have a large staff of professionals working for you, when you're really running a one man show.

3. Search Engine Compatibility.

Private label articles are usually ghostwritten by people who like to fill their articles with keywords and keyword phrases. So, if you use these articles on your website, you increase the odds that people will actually find your site using such keywords in the search engines.

The increased volume of traffic to your site itself will also increase your ranking on the various search engines out there, creating a self-sustaining system which guarantees that you'll get a lot of hits. Combine this with a lot of interesting articles designed to keep people coming back, and your website is sure to succeed.

4. Ebooks.

Another way that you can make huge profits with private label articles is to take various related articles and actually merge them together to form a large ebook. Since PLR article providers give their members the right to add their names on the articles and claim authorship of them, you can even take this a step further and place your name as the author of the ebooks.

Not only is this a huge potential source of income, this method also gives you credibility and competence that will increase the confidence that your clients and readers will have in you.

These are just a few things that you can do with private label rights articles. These articles have become a fact of life now, and while most people still write all of their own material for their websites, more and more people are starting to see the ease with which Private Label articles can be used to make a profit with less effort. Make sure you don't get left behind.

You can do this .......................................Ricky

Blogging Your Way To More Traffic

By now just about everyone has a blog on their site. If you don't yet, you should definitely look into starting a blog of your own. With easy and free options like Blogger and Wordpress, it's actually a lot easier than it may look.

Why bother starting a blog? Because blogs could possibly be the easiest type of site to promote that has ever been created. The whole concept of blogging is based around interlinking to other interesting sites, often without being approached by the site owner first. Most blog platforms even include a trackback feature to encourage blogging about other people's sites. This is a drastic change from the view of traditional webmasters who fear linking out will hurt their site's ranking.

Submit your blog to as many free blog directories as possible. Just like submitting a regular site to free web directories gives you backlinks and Pagerank, submitting your blog will do the same thing for it. Also, if your blog generates an RSS feed (most blogging software does this for you), you can submit that to another list of RSS directories also, maximizing your exposure.

Blogs also give you an easy way to take part in the social bookmarking (Web 2.0) phenomenon and get some great targeted traffic. While most social bookmarking sites let you post pages from regular websites, the very structure of a blog makes it a great fit for bookmarking and sharing with others in the community.

Technorati is the best place to start with tagging and pinging your blog. All you have to do is sign up for an account and "claim" your blog with a couple of easy steps. Now you can add tags to every post and your blog will show up on Technorati for those keywords. If you're using Wordpress, there are a few plugins that make tagging easy (Simple Tags and Ultimate Tag Warrior are probably the best right now.)

Technorati is just the beginning, though. There are literally hundreds of social bookmarking sites now, with more new ones popping up every day. Obviously, time becomes a factor at some point, but you should try to sign up and post your blog at as many social bookmarking sites as possible.

Of course, you can still use traditional online marketing methods to bring traffic to your blog just like it was any other site. You can get great traffic from writing and submitting articles or press releases that link to your blog. Be sure to also link to your blog in your signatures on any related forums you may participate in. Try to post quality information so people will be interested in reading what you have posted on your blog.

Blog sites are far easier to promote than traditional websites, just because of their design and interactive structure. Take advantage of as many of these interlinking features (trackbacks, comments, tagging, etc.) to maximize the traffic to your blog. Submitting to blog and RSS feed directories, along with traditional methods of directory submission, article writing, and link exchange should also give your blog a significant increase in website traffic.

Alexa Ranking - Is Important ?

The main goal that almost all companies have today when dealing with online marketing is to improve their conversion rate. Everybody knows that there are various ways of attracting targeted traffic. Some go for a good place in the Search engine result page, others would be more satisfied with heavier traffic. Either way, everybody sets his goal usually in earning more money.

But, while having a high position in Google may seem to some companies the only way to make themselves known and thus reaching their goal, there are others that think that a good place in the Alexa ranking system might result quite beneficial in the end.

What is Alexa Ranking?

This is a ranking system provided by alexa.com (controlled by amazon.com) that basically evaluates and shows the number of visits on various Web sites. The algorithm according to which Alexa traffic ranking is calculated, is simple. It is based on the amount of traffic recorded from users that have the Alexa toolbar installed over a period of three months.

This traffic is based on some parameters like reach and page views. The reach stands for the number of Alexa users who visit a particular site in one day. Page view shows the number of times a particular page is visited by Alexa users. At the same time, Alexa explains that if some user visits the same page more times in one day, all those visits will be counted as one.

The first step in the ranking process is evaluating the reach and number of page views for all the sites on the Web on a daily basis. The Alexa ranking is obtained by performing the geometric mean of reach and page views, averaged over a predefined period of time (three months).

How Alexa Ranking Works

It's quite easy to work with Alexa toolbar. All you have to do is visit the alexa.com site and download (and install) the Alexa toolbar . This toolbar provides a search feature but it mainly shows the rank (at a global level) of the visited site, as well as the sites that have been visited by Web surfers that are linked in some way to the site being visited.

Not only does Alexa toolbar shows information, but it also sends data to the central server. In other words, every time you might be visiting a webpage through a web browser (be it Internet Explorer or Firefox) that has this toolbar installed, information will be sent to the server indicating your IP and the page you are visiting. Such data is gathered from all the Web users who have the Alexa toolbar.

On the other hand, with Alexa the situation is a bit different: the smaller the numerical ranking, the better. Most people say that if you succeed in making to the top 100,000, it is a sign that your site benefits from quite a lot of traffic.

Is Alexa Ranking Worth Something ?

Ups

• Alexa Traffic can be used as a competitive intelligence tool but what you should take into account, is the fact that the audience sample size can be easily labelled as small; Your only task is to enter your competitor's site URL in the "Compare Sites" section and assess the results of your web marketing efforts in comparison with your competitors'.

• In contrast with Google PageRank, the lower your ranking number, the better.

• It helps Webmasters and advertisers observe the real marketing potential of your Web site. The better your Alexa rank, the higher they will be willing to bid to purchase space to advertise on your Web site.

• Personal pages or blogs also ranked in the same way as ordinary Web sites. They will even get a distinctive mark (*)

• Because Alexa ranking helps you with information about your Web site, it is a good instrument for search engine optimization.

Downs

• Not all internet users have the Alexa toolbar installed ; so, there might be many Web sites that, even if they have a lot of traffic, will not be ranked (or not high enough) by Alexa. Consequently, the whole process might be rather relative.

• Rumours say that Alexa results are quite inaccurate and that Alexa traffic could be tricked in some way.

• Neither subdomains nor subpages within a domain are ranked separately. The overall traffic is calculated for the top-level domain only.

Ways to Improve Your Alexa Ranking

If you want to increase your Alexa traffic ranking, you just have to follow some quite simple rules, such as:

• Download and install the Alexa toolbar ; afterwards go to your own site.

• Place the Alexa widget on your Web site in order to lure visitors ; after all, you know that each click is important.

• Provide visitors with useful, top-quality and webmaster-related content. Advertise content on webmaster forums and on social networking sites. The main goal is to get as many computer and Internet , lovers , as possible to visit out your site ; it is very probable that some of them might already have Alexa toolbar installed.

• Promote information about Alexa through blogs and articles. You will get the links you need in order to improve your site. Some of the most improtant blogs or sites where you could post information are digg.com , del.icio.us , or stumbleupon.com

• Optimize your site (or relevant pages of it) for Alexa related keywords.

• Spread the news about Alexa toolbar among your friends, convince them to download and install it on their computers, and then, tell them to visit your site.

• Employ Alexa redirect. This means placing http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect? in front of your Web site's URL. This way, Alexa will certainly take into account clicks on redirected links even though visitors might not have Alexa toolbar installed.

• In all likelihood, Asian people are quite fond of Alexa. As a result, many people suggest posting in Asian social networking forums.

• Whenever you might publish content on webmaster forums, make sure to include your site's URL in your signature. It is very likely that most webmasters have the toolbar installed on their computers, and there's a great probability that they'll come to your site.

All in all...

From what you might have seen above, one can easily conclude that there are both upsides and downsides with Alexa toolbar. The main idea is that most people consider it valuable only for direct advertising. Unfortunately, the results can be inaccurate sometimes due to the fact that Alexa ranking for a site is calculated on the basis of the number of visitors with the Alexa toolbar installed who have visited that particular site.

Nevertheless, it may prove useful for sites with heavy traffic that attract highly targeted leads, since Alexa focuses more on the traffic that Web sites have, rather than on the number of backlinks. As a Web site monetization strategy, we can safely say that Alexa ranking might be the right solution.

Solo Ads- Make Them Work For You !

Newsletter advertising has been getting a bad rap lately. Around every corner you can find someone complaining about how it doesn’t work. But when you ask them if they’ve tried it, most say no. The others who have, had NO idea what they were doing.

Today we’re going to talk about exactly what kind of solo ads sell and what factors are important. Let’s start by going through the process of publishing a solo ad.

1. Choose a newsletter/ezine to publish in.
2. Write the solo ad
3. Write an effective title
4. Design the website where your visitors will go...

Now Here are the facts:

1. Choose a newsletter/ezine - Extremely important. You must do your best to choose the most targeted group possible. You must choose a “good-sized” list. Also, the group must be responsive.

The best searching technique is to go to the websites in your niche market that are popular and find the links that say “advertising” or “advertise with us.” It’s normally quite self-explanatory from there...I personally recommend going for no newsletter with less than 5,000 members – unless they are extremely targeted and very responsive.

To determine how responsive a group is – ALWAYS ask or look for testimonials from others who have advertised before. If the publisher is unwilling to provide these – don’t waste your time promoting there.

2. Write the Solo Ad One word – story. That’s the BEST way to sell someone something – tell them a story. Most people are so skeptical now every time they receive an e-mail that the only real way to warm up to them is to tell them a story.

Start talking about how you went from a “nothing” to having this great success. Or, how you went from not knowing anything about “such and such” to now becoming an expert.

The next tip is to give them a “feeling” of what they are about to learn – *start* to teach them about the topic and then say “O...to learn the rest, click here.” I’ve learned that the best solo ad never sells a thing, it only pre-sells and warms up to the reader. I guess this is where the theory of “Pre-Sell” prevails.

3. Write an Effective Title. Quite possibly the MOST important part of your entire campaign. Don’t underestimate the readers of the ezine. They *know* when the regular issue comes and when the solo ads come.

They’re already skeptical. If you want to catch their eye, you better have a title that really appeals to them.

Here are some good title tips:

A) Use Numbers - ex/ How to Get 2000+ Targeted Visitors A Day instead of “How to Get Traffic”

B) Be Specific – Your title should reveal EXACTLY what you talk about…

C) Keep It Short – The shorter the title, the more it will be read…

D) Avoid SPAM words – Don’t use “FREE” “MONEY” – These words are turn-offs now…If you can write an effective title, you’ve one half the battle already!

4. Design the website where your visitors go... The BIGGEST mistake (in my opinion) is to simply send the traffic to your main site. I recommend you set-up a SEPARATE website for THAT particular ezine. Make that visitor feel as if he/she is VIP for coming in from that newsletter.

Greet them with a “Hey “INSERT NAME HERE”! Glad you could make it to our site! This makes your site more personal and the visitor feels more comfortable reading your message.

A quick tip for your website: Always talk about the success YOU had with the program you are selling – tell a story and reveal how well YOU did with it.

You will see a HUGE increase in sales. Once again, people want stories and they want storied about YOU. If you apply these four factors the “right” way, you’re bound to do extremely well with Solo Ads. Personally, I make thousands a month selling my Ebook using Solo Ads – so, no one can tell me they don’t work.

Key Words - How To Use Them

One of the most accepted ways to catch the eye of a search engine spider is to optimize the number of keywords on a Web page. By keywords, we mean the core subject described on the Web page, or a particular word or phrase a person wants the search engine to find in cyberspace.

For the best SEO results, the keywords must be repeated at least three to four times within a page of text. There are no defined limits to the number of times the keywords can be used, but ideally they must not be used too often or too infrequently. For keyword phrases (combinations of several keywords), you must take care that the keyword phrases are repeated several times throughout the text, with each of word in the phrase appearing in the exact order every time. Additionally, each word in the keyword phrase must be used often and independently elsewhere in the text.

For example, if the keyword phrase is "SEO optimization," the whole phrase should be used a number of times in the text body, and the individual words "SEO" and "optimization" should appear spread throughout the text independently a number of times. As a rule of thumb, if the key phrase "SEO optimization" is used 10 times, the individual word "SEO" can be used 7 times and "optimization" can appear 5 times. This is not a set pattern, but it represents the general picture of keyword/key phrase distribution.

Another way to describe the number of keywords on a page is the term "keyword density." In fact, this is how Web designers explain the arrangement of keywords on a Web page. Keyword density denotes the frequency of times a keyword appears in the given text. It is usually expressed in percentages. For example, a keyword appearing 6 times on a page of 100 words has a keyword density of 6 percent.

Paying attention to keyword density is important because if the keyword density is too low, search engines pay scant attention to the page. Likewise, if a keyword density that is too high could invite trouble if the search engines regard it as spam and activate the spam filter for that particular Web page. If the latter occurs, Google will penalize the Web page and demote the Web site's ranking. Very simply, maintaining keyword density is like a tightrope walk, with very little room for error. It is hit or miss at its very best!

For optimal search engine response, keyword density on a particular Web page must ideally hit between 5 and 7 percent. In the case of keyword phrases, the total density of the individual words in the phrase must also fall within these limits. Anything more than 7 percent could be counterproductive, as it is detrimental to your SEO success and also spoils the readability of the page's content.

Another aspect of keyword use that could ratchet up your success with search engine response is the number of keywords used intelligently at the start of the page or in the headings. Search engines generally place more weight on keyword density at the upper portion of a Web page. Also, keywords used in the title tag, those in strong/bold font, and keywords or key phrases featuring links to other pages could influence search results phenomenally.

To conclude, keywords are vital for improving the rankings of any Web page. But you must use caution to use them often enough to positively affect the search results, but not so often that the spiders consider them spam. Once Google or other search engines penalize a Web page for its contents or ungentlemanly behavior, it becomes very difficult to regain the lost ground.

See ya ....................................................Ricky

Find Your Niche ?

As an affiliate marketer, it is important to find your niche. For instance, if you are reviewing and promoting a product such as Forex, does it make a lot of sense to suddenly switch gears and promote colon cleansing products? Not really, but an intuitive marketing plan might help you interconnect many different products so that you can cross sell or up sell from one product to the next.

Cross selling is the act of selling a related product to a customer that is already making a purchase. If someone is buying a television, they might also want a DVD player or maybe a service contract for maintenance. Or consider a fast food restaurant; don't they always ask you if you want fries with that?

Once you find your niche, or a product that you really believe in and want to sell, it is easy to find other products to complement the sale. Consider the Forex product mentioned in the first paragraph. A related product might be a book to help provide clarity to the concepts presented by the software. If your customer buys the software and the book, perhaps they need a lamp to see by or a chair for comfort. If they buy a lamp, perhaps they need light bulbs. If they buy the chair, they might need a desk. Once you find your niche product and develop the right affiliations, you can make money online by connecting buyers to sellers from one product idea to the next.

Clean Up Your Website

It is a no-contest issue that only a properly designed web site is the key to attract visitors and to make them keep coming back. Don't forget that your company's website is often the first point of contact and therefore it holds the key to creating the first (and most often the most important) impression of you as a company, and by extension of your products and services for many of your visitors/potential customers.

First time visitors cant judge your way of conducting business, they do judge you by your site standards. The average Internet cruiser is quite weary these days we are living in the attention economy as the say. So how do you catch his/her attention? By having a qualitatively designed site! This can be achieved by employing a professional web development company.

Also you must not forget that traffic retention is equally, if not more, important than driving high traffic to your site. After all, there is absolutely no use of spending all your time and money on building a 100-page site and spending big bucks in advertising through some strategic internet marketing services company if visitors don't like to stay on.

Here are some simple tips for turning your site into a user-friendly one that brings in and retain new visitors/potential customers:

It should load fast: Your website should be fast loading .You can achieve it by using more text and fewer graphics.

It should have easy navigation: Website must be easy to navigate so that people should easily and quickly find what they're looking for without scrolling down each page. Its important to link pages in a consistent, well thought out manner so that users can easily navigate in-between them.

Use graphics sparingly: Graphics does add glitter to your site but they should be used judiciously using them where they are absolutely required. Otherwise they might distract visitors from important concepts of your site or take much time in downloading.

Use colors selectively: Use suitable colors which magnify your product otherwise your copy will be difficult to read and few people will bother reading it.

Don't let pop-ups irritate visitor: Do use pop-ups as they can be an effective way to get a higher response from visitors, but you shouldn't overuse and abuse them. Pop-ups should be used to offer something of high value to your site visitors.

Fulfil visitors expectations: Put yourself in visitors shoes and think what you want this site to deliver and try to fulfil this expectation. Ensure that your navigation and related content use keywords which are most searched, as popularity of a particular keyword related to your business reflects what a visitor wants.

Minimize number of clicks: Most visitors would leave your site if they have to click too much to get what they want. Remember a normal Internet surfer is jaded and doesn't like to waste time. So put the content on scrollable pages with quick navigation links so that people can jump to any section while being on the same page.

Fast downloading: The above mentioned argument is equally true for this point people don't wait while surfing on Internet. So avoid flash intros or bandwidth-hungry graphics as much as possible. Try making your site as lean and nimble as possible to ensure fast downloads.

Your sites credibility is also one of the factors which decide its usability which can be achieved by having an About Us and a Contact Us page. Many people would like to call while visiting your site so assure people you're a proper business by giving them options to contact you through phone, email, and related directions.

If you can develop your website on your own, good! Better idea is to contact a professional web development company which is also well versed in strategic internet marketing and let it develop your website and market it professionally for best results.

Need a Domain Name?

You've launched several sites, and coming up with a good domain name is always difficult.

It seems all of the good ones are taken.

There are two basic strategies that people use.

Come up with a new domain name that isn't already registered.

Go after a domain name that was previously owned. (This is always the more expensive option because you are either buying a premium domain name, or buying an expired domain name on auction.) Right now, we're going to focus on the first method and try to come up with a new domain name that isn't already registered. This is the cheapest option, but it involves trial and error.

There are a lot of free online tools out there that can help suggest good domain name ideas. Some of these tools are run by the registrars (i.e. GoDaddy, NetWork Solutions, etc) and some of these tools are run by independent websites (i.e. MakeWords.com).

But they're all free. Basically, you type in the domain name you want. The online tool will tell you if the domain name is available, or it will suggest a list of other domain names that you might be interested in. They come up with the list by adding words before (prefix) or after (suffix) your search term.

For example, google.com is taken, but hotgooglestore.com is not. Some of the better domain name idea tools will use a thesaurus to come up with similar but different words. Although we probably wouldn't buy a domain name from Yahoo, we did like their domain name tool.

For example, redcafe.com is taken, but RedDiner.com is not.

MakeWords.com is a neat tool because they have an advanced keyword tool search that lets you choose different themes of words to try before or after your search term.

So, for example, their "action" theme tries different combinations of your search term and words like jump, shout, cut, etc.

Their colors theme adds words like red, blue, yellow... You get the idea. The best part of MakeWords is that you can create your own list of words to add to your search term. Just click on "list of affixes" at the bottom of the webpage and enter in a custom list of words that you like. The website will spit out a bunch of domain name ideas with your custom words added before and after your search term.

The worst part of MakeWords is that sometimes it'll tell you a domain name is available, but when you go to a registrar and try to buy it, it turns out that it's not available after all. Because this tool wasn't always reliable, we tended to stick with domain name generators run by the registrars.

How These Sites Make Money:

Domain Name Suggestion sites are free because they make their money when you decide to register a domain name with them.

Chances are, if you used GoDaddy's domain name tool, then when you find your dream domain name, you'll just buy it from them.

If you used MakeWords.com, you can choose which registrar company that you want to buy from, and they'll send you there with the click of a link. (If you buy from that company, then MakeWords.com will make a commission from the sale.)

Bottom Line: Use any site that you like to come up with domain name ideas. But, when you're ready to buy, choose the registrar that offers the best domain name package and price, not the registrar that has the best domain name suggestions. Why? Because with domain names, the price ranges from $1.99 to $34.99 per year. And, not all registrars offer the same quality of service.

Boosting Your Affiliate Profits !!

Are you Interested in boosting your affiliate Profits or commission ?

To increase your affiliate commissions is not impossible or you need to extremely technically knowledgeable.

Here are some simple steps you can take to make more money through affiliate Programs right now.

1. Collect e-mail addresses with an "opt-in" list before sending your visitor to the merchant vendor web site.

2. Write a simple and un-biased review article about the product or program you are promoting. Be sure that you mention some weaker points of the program and keep your article honest. This will lower the audiences defences, as well as increase your articles click through ratio.

3. Promote products that provide residual or recurring income commissions, such as web hosting packages, auto responders, and membership sites.

4. Give away free Viral E-book PDF's loaded with your affiliate links throughout.

5. Create your own Internet marketing ebook, and sell it for 25-35 while giving your customers full resale rights. Fill the e-book with 5-10 of your own affiliate links.

6. Create an affiliate marketing blog and update your content and keywords often. Occasionally, place some affiliate links to quality merchant products, this helps affiliates succeed.

7. Create simple yet affective internet marketing formula that can be condensed into a 10-20 page free PDF. Load the e-book with your affiliate links, products needed for your specific formula to prosper.

8. Use your opt-in list and start your own affiliate marketing newsletter with valuable information on the best multi-tier affiliate marketing programs. If you had a list of 1000, and each person were your sub-affiliate to 4 or 5 of the top affiliate programs, not to mention many of them will also buy the products, your affiliate commissions would be through the roof.

9. Join some two-tier affiliate programs and create an affiliate programs review directory of the top ten affiliate programs on the web. Optimize your pages for the keywords "two-tier affiliate program", "multi-tier affiliate program", "free affiliate programs", etc.

10. When running a Yahoo Overture or Google Adwords ad, capture people's e-mail addresses with your opt-in list, instead of sending a prospect directly to a merchant from your site page. You can easily entice prospects to join your opt-in mailing list by offering a free PDF e-book. Of course, this will contain affiliate links of your own! Make it a viral PDF to increase your income from all of your affiliate marketing campaigns.
